Responsibilities
Level 1 Operator
- Operate a variety of products across various spiral loom machines to produce high-quality wire belting products at the standard rate required for production.
- Inspect the quality of various types and sizes of wire belts to match customer requirements.
- Maintain quality standards by monitoring product appearance and appropriate specifications.
- Utilize calipers as required to ensure specifications are met.
- Perform required quality checks and record quality information on the work order.
- Make equipment adjustments following appropriate work instructions.
- Report quality problems to engineering and supervision.
- Support the team in all efforts towards continuous improvement.
- Use measuring tape, calipers, and perform math with fractions, decimals, and multiplication/addition.
- Complete common setups across various spiral loom machines.
- Diagnose and build products using work order with limited supervision.
- Support the department by performing other tasks of equal to or lesser job grades as required.
- Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors at all times.
Level 2 Operator
- Complete all Level 1 Operator responsibilities.
- Master a large variety of setups across various spiral loom machines.
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems impacting product quality without supervision across the majority of products.
- Diagnose and build products using work order with no supervision.
- Embrace flexibility within daily responsibilities and support as needed.
- Proactively offer ideas to drive continuous improvement.
Level 3 Operator
- Complete all Level 1 & 2 Operator responsibilities.
- Master all setups across all spiral loom machines within the shop.
- Master troubleshooting techniques across all products and machines.
- Take initiative to train others across all products and machines and willingly support others when they face difficulties.
- Lead by example in willingness to be flexible and support the business with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate leadership in providing ideas to drive continuous improvement.
Finisher Role (Welder)
General Skills- Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
- Follow all safety procedures including lifting techniques and limits.
- Understand the welding process between Left and Right Hand.
- Understand the set-up process of the equipment.
- Cut, fit, and weld metal using gas and electric welding equipment.
- Utilize a variety of machines such as saws, torches, plasma cutter, grinders, and drills to complete work safely and effectively.
- Perform skilled welding on a variety of metals including but not limited to heavy gauged steel.
- Able to perform MIG and TIG type welding.
- Perform simple machining tasks.
- Perform all general skills responsibilities.
- Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
- Weld metal parts together as specified by manufacturing order.
- Complete a visual assessment of quality requirements.
- Understand how to cut mesh and punch holes.
- Perform all general skills and Finisher I responsibilities.
- Able to complete at least 50% of chain jobs.
- Able to weld small specifications.
- Able to complete a filter belt manufacturing order.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Environmental, Health & Safety Expectations
- Learn and follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
- Attend required EHS training.
- Wear the required PPE at all times.
- Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and your co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations.
- Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and other hazards in the workplace.
- STOP WORK when imminent danger is present.
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.
