Core Functions
- Operates machines to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift and performing basic adjustments to ensure safe and efficient production of products.
- Performs in-process inspections of parts throughout the manufacturing run and ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance.
- Responsible for producing parts in the proper quantity as identified by the production schedule.
- Performs necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup.
- Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
- Performs operational procedures to ensure the quality of the product packaged.
- Maintains productivity and quality metrics as outlined in Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Reports material utilization in the production report.
- Ensures daily production report data is reported correctly and up to date.
- Recognizes defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions.
- Identifies the proper tooling required for pending production.
- Inspects the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear.
- Inspects machine, conveyer and tools in department and notify Lead that a maintenance repair form is needed, or replacement tools are required.
- Keeps work cell, department, and fire-doors clear of trash and other obstructions that could hinder department performance/safety.
- Maintain condition of work area to meet 5-S standards.
- Communicate with team members and support teams.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
- Prior experience operating manufacturing, packaging, and process control equipment preferred.
