Machine Operator - Die Casting

Responsibilities

• Work from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models.
• Shift between activities as production demands, determine and correct more machine malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Show understanding of all Quality process controls and documentation.
• Use all equipment safely and correctly.
• Execute all functions of the die Casting Cell.
• Maintain quality of parts from the Die Casting Cell.
• Start up high pressure die-casting machines.
• Conduct quality checks and document information as required.
• Collaborate on plant projects with continuous improvement teams.
• Detect casting errors visually and analyze “out of tolerance” conditions.
• Work towards improving productivity and reducing scrap.
• Show flexibility and willingness to learn and assist in other areas of the facility.
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms to various levels within the organization.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Two to Four years of Manufacturing experience (plus).
• High Pressure Die Casting experience (plus).
• Ability to work independently when needed.
• Team player and willing to work with mechanics, machinists, fellow operators, and management.
• Able to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret work instructions and understand all features of a finished product.
• Ability to interpret machine operations, gages, and functions to ensure proper machine operation.
