About the Role
Temporary position supporting production operations by supplying or holding materials or tools, cleaning work areas and equipment, operating machinery, inspecting products, and handling materials.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators (2%)
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards (10%)
- Observe equipment operations to detect malfunctions and notify operators (2%)
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists (15%)
- Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete (5%)
- Mark or tag identification on parts (2%)
- Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances (50%)
- Perform duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment (2%)
- Clean and lubricate equipment (2%)
- Record information such as the number of products inspected, and dates and times of product production (5%)
- Complete other assigned tasks at the direction of supervision (5%)
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience
- Mechanical ability
- Ability to read various dimensional measuring instruments
- Knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials, production processes, and quality control
Tools and Technology
- Forklifts
- Hand tools: hammers (claw hammers), screwdrivers (Phillips head, straight), tape measures, variety of hand tools
- Hoists: power hoists
- Jacks: hand jacks, pipe jacks
- Ladders: platform ladders
- Slings: material-hoisting slings
- Mechanical machines
- Paint systems
- Assembly operations equipment
Work Environment
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
