About the role
Wenger Corporation is a privately-held, leading manufacturer of high-quality music education, performing arts and athletic products. We offer best-in-class, family-friendly scheduling for our manufacturing team, including four 10-hour shifts (Mon-Thurs) with overtime Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate production equipment such as saws, edge banders, CNC machining centers, or other specialized machinery based on production needs
- Follow standard work procedures, blueprints, or work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent part production
- Troubleshoot machine issues and collaborate with maintenance as needed
- Perform quality checks of finished parts, make necessary adjustments, or seek guidance when needed
- Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production issues
- Monitor equipment performance and notify a supervisor of any mechanical issues or irregularities
- Accurately record production data, complete required paperwork, and perform necessary computer transactions
- Support in assembly through packing of finished goods as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety policies and procedures and 5S standards
- Assist in training new operators as directed
- Participate in cross-training and support other departments as needed
- Work positively in group settings, valuing input from others and offering assistance when needed to ensure success
- Contribute to a team-based culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with solid basic math skills
- Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and precision measuring devices
- Willingness and ability to learn and perform multiple tasks within the work area
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Proficient in navigating and using various computer systems and screens
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and detailed work instructions
- Experience operating CNC equipment
- Flexibility to adjust and plan work around changing schedules
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license
- Technical training or trade school certification
