About the role
The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various semi-skilled procedures related to the manufacturing of commercial copper tubing. This role involves operating industrial machines such as an Inner Groove Level Winder, Bunch Coiler, and others. The position is located in Pine Hall, NC and is fully on-site.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial coiling machine to manufacture wound commercial copper coils from tubes of various diameters and wall thickness.
- Perform set up, operation, change over, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for machinery.
- Perform banding operations using hand-held pneumatic bander and manually operated crimper.
- Perform dimensional analysis of copper tubs at designated intervals during processing using a micrometer.
- Use a variety of hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, pry bars, hammers, etc.
- Conduct safety audits of equipment at the beginning of each shift, record results, and submit them to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSA)s, and Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs).
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace throughout the department.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Industrial manufacturing experience is considered advantageous.
- A mechanically inclined individual is preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in both hot and cold environments.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations is required.

Pay and Schedule
- Starting pay range: $18 to $20 per hour.
- Additional pay levels available for progression.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a 2-2-3 schedule.
