Machine Operator

Your responsibilities

• Start up machines and change tooling to run different products.
• Complete basic troubleshooting when issues arise.
• Be alert to product quality and follow all control plans.
• Train others.
• Participate in a team environment to maximize production efficiencies.

Key Deliverables

• Maintain a safe working environment by complying with safety and environmental policies.
• Advocate for and promote a safe work environment by reporting near misses and safety hazards.
• Have authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety, or environmental problems.
• Drive towards meeting balance scorecard metric targets including safety, sustainability, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Complete control plan inspections (CPIR).
• Load, unload, sort, and inspect proper component parts and assemblies according to Control Plans.
• Monitor part quality data and enter corrections/offsets as required.
• Handle non-conforming products and quality sorts.
• Engage in and support Operational Excellence programs by submitting continuous improvement ideas.
• Maintain established 6S standards for work area.
• Efficiently run and operate all required equipment.
• Complete line start-ups and changeover activities.
• Complete SAP transactions.
• Identify and recover machine faults.
• Participate in handling non-conforming products and quality sorts.
• Engage in and promote a learning culture at thyssenkrupp by sharing knowledge and training other employees.
• May be required to cross-train into different areas as needed to help maintain production demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year or more prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, decimals, negative and positive numbers.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
• Use of Metric System.
• Knowledge of SAP Integrated Business software and Maximo work order software.
• Use computer with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suites software.
