Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate machines safely, efficiently, and cleanly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor as required.
• Absorb necessary tools, settings, and supplies before production begins.
• Maintain constant attendance to machines and prevent untrained employees from improper use.
• Record and account for all materials used on the line for assigned shift.
• Aid supervisor in maintaining work areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Make minor machine adjustments and inform supervisor and maintenance department when major repairs are needed.
• Record all downtime due to machine malfunctions and report them to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
• Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
• Follow all USDA guidelines.
• Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance.
• Comply with customer requirements when applicable.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of production experience.
• Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, and safety-conscious.
• Able to read, write English, and perform basic math.
• Able to operate mechanical and electrical machines.
• Able to make logical decisions.
• Ability to work different shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
• Exposure to cold refrigerated and frozen conditions.
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Exposure to extreme cold.

Skills

• Operate mechanical and electrical machines.
• Make logical decisions.
