Machine Operator

Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate machines safely, efficiently, and cleanly.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor as required.
- Absorb necessary tools, settings, and supplies before production begins.
- Maintain constant attendance to machines and prevent untrained employees from improper use.
- Record and account for all materials used on the line for assigned shift.
- Aid supervisor in maintaining work areas in a clean and safe manner.
- Make minor machine adjustments and inform supervisor and maintenance department when major repairs are needed.
- Record all downtime due to machine malfunctions and report them to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
- Follow all USDA guidelines.
- Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance.
- Comply with customer requirements when applicable.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 6 months of production experience.
- Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, and safety-conscious.
- Able to read, write English, and perform basic math.
- Able to operate mechanical and electrical machines.
- Able to make logical decisions.
- Ability to work different shifts and weekends.
Qualifications
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
- Exposure to cold refrigerated and frozen conditions.
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Exposure to extreme cold.
Skills
- Operate mechanical and electrical machines.
- Make logical decisions.
