Schedule

Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (mandatory overtime)

Pay

$22.00–$28.00/hour + $2.00/hour shift differential

About the role

The Pultrusion Machine Operator sets up, operates, monitors, and maintains pultrusion equipment used to manufacture reinforced composite materials. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining product quality, safety standards, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate pultrusion machinery, including creels, resin baths, heaters, pullers, and cut-off saws
  • Load raw materials such as fiberglass reinforcements, resins, and additives into the production line
  • Monitor equipment performance and adjust process parameters (temperature, speed, pressure) to meet specifications
  • Inspect finished products for quality, including dimensions, surface defects, and structural integrity
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance or supervisory staff
  • Accurately document production data, downtime, and material usage
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
  • Assist with changeovers, tooling adjustments, and process improvements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or composites preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pultrusion, composites manufacturing, or plastics production
  • Familiarity with continuous process manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of measuring tools (calipers, gauges)
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Capability to work in a production environment with heat, noise, and chemicals (PPE provided)

Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing setting
  • Exposure to resins, fibers, and heated equipment
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirators as needed
  • May require shift work, overtime, or weekends depending on production needs
