About the role
Horberg Industries Inc. is hiring a full-time Machine Operator to join our team in Shelton, CT. The role involves producing high-precision parts for the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run Escomatic Swiss-type screw machines
- Program machines using G-code for effective performance
- Perform various machining tasks such as turning, milling, drilling, threading, and deburring
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure all parts meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot issues and work with engineers and quality teams to fix problems
- Keep detailed records of production and inspections
- Participate in efforts to improve safety and productivity in the workplace
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience operating Escomatic Swiss-type screw machines or similar CNC machines
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of G-code programming and machine-specific languages
- Familiarity with measurement instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
- Strong understanding of machining principles, including speeds, feeds, and tooling selection
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulations
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
- Effective communication skills for teamwork
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
- Commitment to safety and protocol adherence
Qualifications
- Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred
