About the role

Horberg Industries Inc. is hiring a full-time Machine Operator to join our team in Shelton, CT. The role involves producing high-precision parts for the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run Escomatic Swiss-type screw machines
  • Program machines using G-code for effective performance
  • Perform various machining tasks such as turning, milling, drilling, threading, and deburring
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure all parts meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with engineers and quality teams to fix problems
  • Keep detailed records of production and inspections
  • Participate in efforts to improve safety and productivity in the workplace

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience operating Escomatic Swiss-type screw machines or similar CNC machines
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of G-code programming and machine-specific languages
  • Familiarity with measurement instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, including speeds, feeds, and tooling selection
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulations
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
  • Commitment to safety and protocol adherence

Qualifications

  • Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred
