Machine Operator

About the role

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products. The position is full-time and permanent, with a 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment on one or more extrusion lines
• Ensures that extruder outputs are consistent with product specifications
• Maintains quality assurance by inspecting finished product for consistency within established product quality specifications
• Notifies Supervisory personnel of deviations for prompt and accurate correction(s)
• Communicates with Maintenance Department and Manufacturing Shift Supervisor about machine malfunctions
• Performs preventive maintenance on most equipment on the production floor and maintains bar coders, if applicable
• Trains Extrusion Associate 1s and 2s on their shift
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED
• Three years of directly related experience (e.g., EA3 and EA4)
• Good mechanical aptitude and above average math aptitude
• Quality and safety conscious, a team player
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with people
• Ability to operate computer and ten key, use and read calipers and micrometers to within one thousandth of an inch
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
• Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
