MACHINE OPERATOR 4 PM to 2:30 AM

Zehnder Rittling, a trusted name in hydronic and radiant heating since 1946, is seeking a detail-oriented, fast-paced individual to join our team in Western New York.

About the role

Responsible for set-up and operation of turret equipment to punch and prepare material for job orders consistent with customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews job orders to determine customer specifications.
• Sets up turret, including turning on machine, water power, hydraulic, and resetting machine to zero.
• Modifies computer programs to meet job specifications on a regular basis.
• Sets up tooling specifications.
• Performs incoming inspection on sheared material prior to punching; documents issues via "blue sheet" and obtains clearance from Leadperson or Management before proceeding if problems are identified.
• Operates turret at an appropriate tempo to meet production quantities while maintaining quality standards.
• Performs first piece inspection on newly punched material to ensure equipment is properly set to produce required quality standards.
• Delivers finished product (punched) to next operation within cell.
• Orders tooling parts through communication with CAD as needed.
• Works as part of the team to identify and eliminate non-value added processes and waste.
• Implements and sustains 5S program.
• Performs autonomous maintenance on equipment.
• Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
• Assists in all other areas of cell and maintains flexibility to transfer to other cells when needed.
• All other duties as assigned by Leadperson or Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of similar work experience desired.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with small hand tools.
• Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.

Schedule

• Second shift: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day).
• Overtime required when needed: Friday 4:00 pm to 2:30 am (10 hours) and Saturday 11:30 am to 5:30 pm (6 hours).
• 40+ hours per week.

Pay

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour.
