Machine Operator 3rd shift and 2nd shift

About the role

Responsible to set up a safe, efficient, operation of 10 or more types of machinery. Makes minor repairs, as outlined by maintenance and/or mechanical technician. Will assist maintenance as required in the repair of overhaul of machines in assigned area. Responsible for keeping machines clean and in good mechanical condition.

Responsibilities

• Interprets the overlays from the overlays, makes required measurements (to 1/64”), and adjusts machines accordingly.
• Trouble shoots machine as required to ensure safe operation.
• Clean machines as needed to prolong machine life.
• Advises coordinator of quality or output problems when they can’t be immediately resolved.
• Performs stock work as assigned.
• Checks for proper identification on inbound and outbound stock in assigned area.
• Makes necessary visual quality checks as specified by procedure, and other special checks as assigned.
• Maintains production orders and machine logs as operation requires.
• Trains new operators as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience setting up and operating 10 or more types of machinery.
• Ability to make minor repairs and assist in the repair of machines.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements to 1/64th of an inch.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, occasionally heavy workload environment.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
