About the Role

AKG is seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator to operate specialized machine within our manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for programming and operating equipment that cuts materials to exact specifications listed in work orders.

The Ideal Candidate

• We’re looking for someone who:
• - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 1 year of machine operating experience strongly preferred.
• - Can read, write and follow detailed work instructions.
• - Ability measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• - Basic computer skills with accurate data entry using systems or scanners.

What You’ll Do

• Using the work order, enter the needed data to operate the machine effectively.
• Use a chain hoist to load material onto the machine.
• Accurately program and operate the machine within standards of operation.
• Make adjustments as needed to maintain product tolerance.
• Conduct quality tolerance verification and log details.
• Document and label final product correctly.
• Store final product in the correct storage location both physically and in the data inventory system.
• Set up and verify key components such as lubrication and machine quality tolerances.
• Meet the production quotas set forth by the Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Report any issues to the Supervisor or appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and requirements set forth in AKG’s Environmental Management System (EMS).

Physical Requirements

• Stand 100% of the shift.
• Frequently bend, stoop, push, pull, twist, and turn.
• Lift up to 50 lbs (approximately 40% of the time).
• Operate a pallet jack and chain hoist.
• Wear required safety equipment, including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves. (All PPE is provided except steel toe shoes.)
