About the role

Operate stamping presses and auxiliary equipment producing metal connector plates and steel components with manual and automated packaging processes. Ensure safety and quality compliance, as well as precise production reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a stamping press and auxiliary equipment with manual and automated packaging processes
  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals
  • Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors
  • Assist mechanics whenever required to keep press/packaging equipment operational
  • Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection
  • Manually pack metal connectors and/or steel components into packaging containers
  • Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers on shipping containers
  • Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly
  • Perform ongoing inspection of products being produced to internal quality standards
  • Complete quality and production paperwork in its entirety throughout assigned shift
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is essential, including the ability to work overtime as required

Requirements

  • High School/GED preferred
  • Up to 1 year related experience and/or training preferred; equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute on a year-for-year basis
  • Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply concepts of basic geometry
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications

Physical Demands

This is a physical position that requires the individual to:

  • Stand, walk, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Pay

Wage range is $20.00/hr to $24.00/hr, based on knowledge and experience, plus an additional $2.00/hr shift premium.
