About the Role
Hyperion Solutions is a technology-driven vertical transportation solution provider headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. We connect trusted and respected brands to create the premier integrated provider of Systems & Components, Digital Solutions, and Technical Services for the Vertical Transportation industry. This entry-level Machine Operator Level 1 position supports our goal to build high-quality elevator components by operating basic production machinery, performing simple setups, and ensuring components meet specifications under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Production Operations: Operate and monitor basic production machines according to standard operating procedures. Follow assigned production schedules and maintain expected output rates. Perform basic assembly or inspection tasks as directed. Verify part conformance using basic measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, caliper).
- Machine Setup and Maintenance: Assist with machine setup and tool changes under supervision. Keep work area organized and clean to promote efficiency and safety. Report faulty equipment, tooling issues, or defective materials immediately to prevent production delays. Support preventive maintenance efforts by monitoring machine conditions.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts visually and with basic measurement devices to confirm adherence to standards. Follow work instructions and escalate any deviations or quality issues. Support documentation of inspections or nonconformance when required.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety rules, policies, and standard operating procedures. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Maintain awareness of surroundings and identify unsafe conditions promptly. Support team 5S and safety initiatives.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and supervisors. Participate in shift meetings and provide updates on production status. Support a positive team environment through reliability and cooperation. Assist peers as needed to maintain workflow continuity.
- Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions to develop machining and quality skills. Demonstrate continuous improvement in operating efficiency and technical understanding. Learn to interpret blueprints, part drawings, and quality specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 0-1 years of manufacturing or machine operating experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read simple measurements.
- Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Prompt and regular attendance required.
