About the role

The Machine Operator role, with moderate assistance and oversight from team leadership, has overall responsibility for setting up, adjusting, and operating a variety of production machinery to produce high-quality finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all company and department-related safety practices, including wearing required PPE, following machine safety protocols, and notifying site leadership of unsafe working conditions.
  • Self-monitor the quality of manufactured product(s) and notify department leadership if quality practices cannot be met or maintained.
  • Set up machines to start a production cycle or changeovers. Control and adjust machine settings and/or tooling as needed.
  • Adhere to defined Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Meet established run rates and machine standards.
  • Maintain lean practices at their workstation. Contribute ideas for making work safer, easier, better, and faster.
  • Read and apply instructions and specifications from a variety of sources, including work instructions, drawings, machine manuals, and inspection checklists while manufacturing product.
  • Maintain activity logs and hour-by-hour boards.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting on manufacturing machinery and communicate with supervision when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the objectives of the facility.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret and follow written instructions.
  • Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instruction documents.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments (e.g., tape measure).
  • Strong ability to learn new processes and techniques.

Qualifications

At HuFriedyGroup, we understand that valuable skills and experience come from all walks of life. A college degree or high school diploma is not required for this role.

  • Preferred: 1+ years of manufacturing machine operating experience.

Schedule

2nd Shift (2:45 PM - 11:15 PM), Monday - Friday

Pay

Includes a $1 per hour shift differential.
