About the role

Operate machinery designed to perform a specific portion of the production process for Carlisle Companies Incorporated. Assist Operator II and Operator III on packing and end-of-line work as needed. Overtime may be required; no travel is needed.

Position is 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM with occasional overtime and a $1 shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery of assigned department to complete work orders.
  • Receive and review work orders; communicate material needs to other departments.
  • Continuously observe machine operation to ensure optimal performance and adherence to standard work.
  • Perform hazard-based functions on machinery, including lock out/tag out and daily equipment inspection.
  • Stack, sort, and bundle material according to department standards.
  • Perform occasional housekeeping tasks, 5S, and SQDC involvement.
  • Record data of manufactured material for quality control and improvement.
  • Achieve production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
  • Assist with quality checks to verify proper parameters are adhered to.
  • Support Operators II & III in packaging and end-of-line work as needed.
  • Utilize Carlisle Operating System (COS) tools to identify opportunities for improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow Carlisle Companies policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
  • Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers.
  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
  • Understand, participate in, and support company COS initiatives with a focus on developing a lean mindset.
  • Forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient/outside temperatures and dust.
  • Work involves mechanical parts, pinch points, and increased noise levels.
  • Hours vary based on shift schedule and business volume; flexibility for overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Use of heavy, stationary machinery on the manufacturing floor.
  • Tools and equipment used include radio, calculator, measuring devices, hand tools, and computer (Shop Floor and ERP).

  • Bending or Stooping: Occasionally.
  • Reaching Above Shoulder Level: Occasionally.
  • Walking: Frequently.
  • Standing: Frequently.
  • Sitting: Frequently.
  • Repetitive Motion (wrists, hands, and/or fingers): Continuously.
  • Vision: Continuously.
  • Hearing: Continuously.
  • Dexterity: Continuously.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Continuously.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: eye and hearing protection, safety toe shoes (steel/composite), hi-vis vests, and other PPE as defined by management.
