Machine Operator, 2nd Shift

About the role

To thrive as a Machine/Filling Operator with Behr, you must be eager to learn. You don’t need any previous experience or knowledge about paint or manufacturing, as we’ll teach you everything you need to know. This role is a perfect starting point to launch your career. You’ll cross-train on multiple lines to assist with any role that needs help. At the start of each workday, you’ll be assigned to one of the production lines.

• On a solo line, you’ll oversee filling and case-packing.
• On a dual-operator line, you and a partner will share responsibilities.
• You will inspect and pull items with issues, such as misprinted labels, improperly sealed lids, or defective packaging.
• Periodically, you’ll weigh cans to ensure the filling equipment meets weight parameters.
• Perform changeovers between various paints.
• Maintain the cardboard machine by keeping it stocked with cases for packing.
• Assist team members as needed.

Requirements

• Excellent attendance—operators are vital to our operations.
• A commitment to safety; you’ll wear proper safety equipment, including steel-toed shoes at all times.
• A desire to learn and grow with the company.
• Physical ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., full cases of paint) several times a day.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.

Pay

Filling Operators start at $19.50/hr. Team members receive a $0.50/hr increase at 6 months and another $0.50/hr increase at one year of employment. Quarterly and holiday bonuses are available.
