Machine Operator - 2nd shift

About the Role

The Machine Operator will operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line, while adhering to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the work area clean, clutter-free, and organized.
• Performs preventive maintenance and mechanical changes (e.g., mold, neck, blow pin).
• Operates blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines to produce quality bottles.
• Adheres to quality control and blow mold process procedures.
• Troubleshoots and resolves process problems.
• Performs bottle inspections, including drop tests.
• Inspects bottle quality during production, packaging, and labeling.
• Conducts audits, weight checks, and quality checks.
• Makes adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Performs minor repairs on blow-mold and support equipment.
• Escalates bottle abnormalities, defects, and quality issues immediately.
• Monitors and replenishes packaging material supply levels.
• Handles dropped bottles, placing them into bins or grinders as needed.
• Ensures correct labeling, bottle description, and packaging according to customer requirements.
• Moves finished goods to designated areas.
• Prepares and documents daily production reports.
• Prepares maintenance request forms and documents equipment repairs.
• Receives instructions from Lead Operator or Supervisor and seeks assistance for unusual problems.

Qualifications

• Experience: Basic mathematical skills, basic computer experience, and blow mold experience required.
• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Training: Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training within 90 days of hire.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, grasping, handling, reaching, and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts in a loud production environment. Temperatures fluctuate seasonally. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
