About the role
The Operator role will require cross-training in multiple areas of fabrication including Saw, Tube bending, and Drill/Bevel. The Operator must provide timely, safe, and efficient operation of machines, timely processing of customer orders, and flow of material to contribute to process efficiency. Responsibilities include correctly tagging finished material and moving it to the next designated stages as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example, coach, and train others
- Read production orders and log required documentation accurately
- Demonstrate above-average knowledge of machine processes and steel defects
- Write accurate reject reports
- Apply understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Read a tape measure, blueprints, and all measuring devices
- Read and comprehend instructions and short correspondence
- Perform all required quality checks and surface inspection of material
- Stand and sit frequently; walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Possess specific vision abilities including seeing small detail, depth perception, and adjusting focus
- Maintain valid forklift and crane licenses
- Complete OSHA safety training and follow safety procedures manuals
- May require First Responder Training (First Aid and CPR)
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
Education And Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Hours/Status
- 1st shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM with a shift differential of $3.00/hour
- Weekend shift: Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM for a total of 36 hours with an added weekend shift differential of $4.50/hour
