Machine Operator-1st Shift- Edmond, OK

1st Shift Hours: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday-Friday. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

About the role

A Machine Operator adjusts, calibrates, and tests equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation. This role involves examining, weighing, and measuring components to ensure machines produce according to company and industry regulations, working with team members and maintenance personnel to address complications, and maintaining equipment using regulated cleaning solutions and tools. Operators choose and install necessary equipment parts, including changing dies, and communicate clearly with the following shift for a smooth handoff. The role requires safely running various machines, performing daily safety checks, monitoring the heating and loading of billets, and ensuring material consistency during extrusion. Employees may need to lift 35lb billets, work in high temperatures, and wear heat-reflective Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the duration of the shift. This position offers a climate-controlled environment with leading-edge manufacturing equipment and an opportunity to learn about numismatics and precious metals.

Responsibilities

• Adjust, calibrate, and test equipment at the start of each shift.
• Examine, weigh, and measure components to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Work with team members, maintenance personnel, and leaders to resolve equipment complications.
• Communicate equipment problems or malfunctions and address them promptly.
• Maintain and clean equipment using regulated cleaning solutions, grease guns, oil cans, air hoses, and cleaning cloths.
• Choose and install cutters, molds, and other necessary equipment parts, including changing dies.
• Communicate clearly with the following shift for a smooth handoff.
• Perform daily safety checks and monitor the heating and loading of billets into the press.
• Monitor material consistency during extrusion and perform hot die changes.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Constantly lift 35lb billets and work in high-temperature environments while wearing heat-reflective PPE.
• Other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a production environment preferred.
• Experience operating an extrusion press or similar machinery preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and measurement equipment required.
• Basic use of Microsoft Office preferred.
• Comfortable working in high temperatures and loud environments.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices and proper use of PPE in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently, stand for long periods, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or on a team with little or no supervision.
• Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
• Knowledge of forklift operation and safety is a plus.
