About the role
Burton Mill Solutions, a division of Wood Technologies International (WTI), seeks a Machine Operator for 1st shift (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with overtime potential) at our facility in Fountain Inn, SC.
Responsibilities
- Set up machines and change tooling or saw blades to grind/cut steel
- Operate specialized saws or hand tools
- Use calipers and micrometers; understand fractions and decimals
- Read industrial knife blueprints
- Perform quality checks and complete Statistical Process Control Charts (SPCs) for all assignments
- Load and unload steel from machines; add coolant and empty swarf
- General cleaning of machines and work area
- Forklift certified or able to become certified
- Work with a high sense of urgency and wear all required PPE
- Provide support and training to others as needed
- Participate actively in Lean and Safety Training
- Cross-train to other positions as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must accurately input data into the ERP system
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and email
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and meet daily customer demands
- English language fluency (speak and read)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent
Pay
$20 – $22 per hour; periods of mandatory overtime are likely.
