Machine Operator 1st Shift

About the Role

Filtration Group - Finishing is a leading manufacturer and distributor of OEM and replacement air filters, paint arrestors, overspray collectors, accessories and maintenance supplies for automotive and industrial paint spray booths as well as a diverse range of commercial and industrial HVAC applications. These products protect the environment, as well as improve the quality of the air that we breathe.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more pieces of machinery across multiple departments
• Perform operations efficiently and safely with minimal supervision
• Monitor production to assure quality standards are met
• Train new operators
• Shift between departments based on demand fluctuations in critical positions
• Assist the Line Lead and Group Lead with ensuring the department follows the production schedule
• Provide coverage in the absence of Line Leads and Group Leads for supervisory responsibilities when necessary
• Start and stop machine at specified intervals
• Operate machine(s) per specifications at standard efficiency
• Perform set-up duties and make minor equipment adjustments as agreed upon with Maintenance
• Immediately stop malfunctioning equipment and notify supervisor or mechanic that repairs or adjustments are necessary
• Report to supervisor any situation where the operation deviates from acceptable quality, production or safety standards
• Monitor raw material usage and report excessive loss to the supervisor
• Document daily production, as required
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and keep equipment cleaned at all times
• Follow all company rules and regulations, per the Employee Handbook or department policy
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate in three or more departments on critical equipment
• Knowledge of company products and procedures
• Customer focused with a strong attention to detail
• Able to work overtime on short notice
• Able to reach, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), twist, squat, push and pull
• Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds overhead
• Must be able to use hand tools, power tools and high pressure washer
• Must be able to learn to operate machinery via PLC interface
