Machine Operator- 12 hour shifts

About the role

Operates state-of-the-art plastic extrusion equipment to produce high-quality specialty films. Works in a collaborative environment, monitors production quality, troubleshoots equipment issues, participates in training program, and contributes to sustainable packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Participate in training curriculum as an operator
• Change plastic extruding machine, set up according to production line changes
• Examine products for nonconformance to specifications
• Maintain quality and accuracy of the line and scrap
• Perform housekeeping and preventative maintenance tasks
• Set up plastic extrusion machines (shut-down, start-up, switchovers, order preparation, and production)
• Maintain raw materials (resin) by keeping extruder fed with resin mixture
• Maintain good interaction and teamwork with supervisor and co-workers
• Give assistance to co-workers to expedite changeovers
• Identify needed changes and make recommendations
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, request supervisor assistance when needed

Requirements

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of plastic extrusion experience
• Basic computer knowledge
• Previous manufacturing experience

Pay

• Starting Salary: Wages ranging from $18.00 - $21.00 per hour, dependent on experience

Schedule

• Work only 15 days per month with our unique 2-2-3 schedule
• Work: Monday & Tuesday – Off: Wednesday & Thursday – Work: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
• Off: Monday & Tuesday – Work: Wednesday & Thursday – Off: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
• 12-hour static shifts (Days - 6:00am - 6:00pm) (Nights - 6:00pm - 6:00am)
