Machine Operator 1 Grind - 2nd Shift (Onsite)

About the role

This is a 2nd Shift position: Monday - Thursday, 4:15pm - 2:45am. Employees must remain in their role for 12 months before posting to a new position. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of production machines, including washer, shot peen (GASP – gravity accelerated shot peen), furnace, water & air flow, electrode assembly, laser weld, tack weld, laser ablation, tape & wax, x-ray, bake and detailer.
• Perform routine operations on the production line to produce blades and/or vanes, including all quality checks.
• Perform daily standard work and complex operations while adhering to standard work and all work instructions.
• Read and interpret process sheets, gages, and blueprints; deburr and clean parts; make minor offset changes (if required); change setups; and document information on check sheets.
• Keep dimensional data on run charts and frequently utilize measuring devices to assess product acceptance based on blueprint specifications.
• Run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product per standard work.
• Clock labor in Solumina and perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), documenting results.
• Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
• Frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time), including bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and transporting product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position, to support department objectives and develop skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, Associate degree, and/or Advanced Manufacturing Certification.
