Responsibilities
- Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
- Knows emergency procedures and acts accordingly in case of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
- Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Understands and implements Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Informs supervisor of safety issues and reports workplace injuries or incidents immediately
- Participates actively in safety improvement processes such as Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.
- Starts and stops machines safely, reporting malfunctions to a supervisor
- Feeds and monitors the speed of machines during production
- Examines products for conformance to quality standards
- Maintains work area in a neat condition
- Records product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and documents as required
- Assists other workers with specific tasks as needed
- Adheres to plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Supports Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing required training and practices
