Responsibilities

• Overall line responsibility from production to packaging
• Start and stop the machine
• Perform parison controls and make minor process adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
• Monitor material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, tail lengths, etc.)
• Perform regular quality control throughout the shift and visual quality checks
• Prepare the machine for mold changes, including changing speed and cycle times
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure goods are produced in the correct quantity and specifications
• Accurately record goods produced and problems encountered during shift
• Perform color changes and material changes
• Perform autonomous maintenance activities
• Provide directions to Packaging Operators and Machine Operators I, as needed
• Develop Machine Operator I by providing and supporting training activities
• Cover for the Shift Supervisor when needed
• Assist the Supervisor or Mold Change Team with mold/color changes as needed
• Work together in a team to ensure efficiency
• Maintain good housekeeping in and around the machine and within the department

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1.5 years of experience as an ALPLA Machine Operator I or at least 3 years equivalent outside experience preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrated mechanical ability
