About the role

We are looking for a Machine Learning & NLP Expert to design challenging ML and NLP problems, integrate them into an agentic development environment, and evaluate frontier AI models. This is a contract role with a commitment of 20 hours per week, offering compensation of $80–$110/hour, fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging ML and NLP problems targeting specific capability gaps in frontier AI models.
• Integrate problems into an agentic development environment using Python.
• Evaluate the target model's performance on designed tasks.
• Identify and classify tasks where the target model fails.
• Collaborate with fellow subject-matter experts to ensure consistent and accurate evaluations.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on experience in machine learning and/or natural language processing.
• Working proficiency in Python.
• Strong command of modern ML/NLP methods, including model training and evaluation.
• Ability to engage reliably for approximately 20 hours per week.
• Strong written communication and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Preferred: Past experience in AI training, model evaluation, or data annotation.
