Machine Learning Engineer Graduate (Search Ads) - 2027 Start

About the role

The Search Ads team pushes the boundaries of general search engine monetization across apps including TikTok, TopBuzz, and BuzzVideo, building a globally leading Search Ads monetization system. You will work on large-scale distributed storage and architecture, NLP, ranking, and information retrieval problems, and innovate on ad formats, creative display, and ROI of ads delivery.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of a large-scale Ads system.
• Optimize relevance models and strategies, including semantic matching models, active learning, multi-modal (text/photo/video) approaches, ranking strategies, and more.
• Develop and iterate on Ads algorithms using Machine Learning.
• Improve NLP capabilities and query understanding, such as query classification, seq2seq, Named Entity Recognition (NER), knowledge graphs, and bidword optimization.
• Enhance CTR/CVR model estimation accuracy through data analysis, modeling, and feature engineering.
• Research and develop Ads pacing algorithms and ads traffic control.
• Collaborate with product managers and strategy teams to define product features and strategy.

Requirements

• Completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or above degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong theoretical grounding in machine learning concepts and techniques.
• Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose languages (e.g., Go, C/C++, Python).
• Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MXNet.
• Ability to think critically and formulate clear, concise solutions to complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Ads systems, recommendation, search, or ranking technologies.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $128,000 – $256,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Eligible employees may also receive discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units as part of the total compensation package.
