About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Learning Engineer 3 to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving artificial intelligence and machine learning transformations within Capital One. You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable machine learning models and infrastructure that address real-world business challenges. Collaborating closely with data scientists, product managers, and operations teams, you will ensure that innovative ML solutions are effectively integrated into our platforms to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiencies. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and extensive experience in software development and machine learning. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or Mathematics is required. Candidates should have at least 3 years of programming experience with languages such as Python, Java, Golang, or C++, and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with industry-standard ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow. Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Spark or Ray, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, is essential. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, experience in optimizing ML algorithms, deploying production models, and building scalable data pipelines. Strong understanding of ML techniques, model architectures, and best practices in software development and deployment are highly valued. Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and components that address complex business problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Inform infrastructure decisions by applying expertise in ML modeling techniques, feature selection, hyperparameter tuning, and model validation processes.Write, test, and automate application code to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable ML solutions.Collaborate within Agile teams to develop software that supports big data and ML applications, ensuring seamless integration and performance.Monitor, retrain, and maintain models in production environments, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy over time.Leverage cloud-based architectures and build data pipelines to facilitate efficient data feeding and model training processes.Implement CI/CD practices, including automated testing and deployment, to streamline model updates and releases.Ensure compliance with governance standards and responsible AI principles, including model explainability and risk management.Utilize programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java to develop and operationalize ML solutions effectively.
