About the Role

As an experienced AI and ML engineer, you will play a critical role in understanding and processing massive datasets through machine learning. Your expertise in conducting statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques will help deliver customer-focused solutions. In this position, you will train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data, defining the direction of mission-critical solutions by implementing AI to enable faster mission success. You will collaborate with a large community of machine learning engineers, data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver world-class solutions across a wide variety of AI use cases. Your technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks, helping solve real-world challenges and define AI strategy for national security.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, test, deploy, and maintain machine learning models.
  • Own and define the direction of mission-critical AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners.
  • Guide clients in navigating ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.
  • Implement AI use cases to address real-world challenges in national security.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, or machine learning engineering, including developing and deploying models.
  • Experience with Python coding and libraries, including scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience developing code using a common programming language, including Python, C++, Rust, or Java.
  • Experience with deep learning, computer vision, or generative AI.
  • Experience with data handling and model development.
  • Ability to solve client issues and problems.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with generative and agentic AI technologies such as LLMs, MCP, LangChain, or LangGraph.
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning.
  • Experience leveraging AI productivity tools for coding, such as Cursor.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet this threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work model expectations:

  • Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as required by the role.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

For virtual work, cameras are generally expected to be on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
