About the Role
Join JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, as a Machine Builder and contribute to delivering intelligent automated manufacturing and distribution technology solutions for leading global manufacturers. This onsite position in Holland, MI, offers the opportunity to work on unique, custom automation projects in a collaborative, engineering-driven environment where craftsmanship and quality matter.
Responsibilities
- Assemble equipment per mechanical drawings.
- Document and communicate changes and problems.
- Carry out assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision.
- Execute ISO and Quality standards.
- Communicate with the Machine Build Lead on open issues and progress during the build process.
- Ensure successful execution of assigned programs related to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.
- Assist with preparing material for secondary processes (material finishing, heat treat, and deburring).
- Safely operate the following equipment:
- Mill Lathe
- Drill Press
- Surface Grinder
- Saws
- Shears
- Presses

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Related vocational education preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in reading part and assembly drawings.
- Proven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
- Ability to accept direction and complete tasks individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a steady pace while bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working on or beneath machines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Ability to obtain the following certifications while employed at JR Automation:
- Hi-Lo (Forklift) license
- Aerial Platform license
- Overhead Crane license
- Lock Out Tag Out training
- Ability to provide own hand tools and toolbox suitable for the job (a recommended list will be provided).
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including potential domestic and international travel depending on the project.
