MA Quality Performance-Population Health Full-Time
About the Role
The Population Health MA (PHMA) role focuses on Quality Performance Improvement within the Population Health area. This position will work fully in-person at our Shared Services Building in West Boise. This is primarily a phone position focused on closing gaps in care by performing proactive outreach with patients and their care teams. The role supports patient care coordination for 180 independent affiliate clinics (network partners) and Saint Alphonsus Medical Group family medicine clinics.
The Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance (Alliance) is a physician-led network sponsored by Saint Alphonsus Health System, representing a Clinically Integrated Network model to align physicians, hospitals, and payers for better access, clinical quality, and cost control. The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group serves over 800,000 people in Idaho, Oregon, and northern Nevada.
Responsibilities
- Contact patients over the phone to close gaps in care through proactive outreach.
- Support system-wide quality performance goals for HEDIS and STAR measures.
- Assist patients with scheduling health screenings and follow-ups (e.g., fit kits, Cologuard tests).
- Analyze preventative health care screenings and work on gaps in care lists.
- Perform pre-visit planning for providers and review payor lists for open gaps in care.
- Complete chart reviews to ensure accurate documentation of gap closure and patients’ clinical complexity.
- Provide education, training, and collaboration with primary care clinical teams to support Quality Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Contribute ideas to improve internal processes for optimal provider and patient experience, enhancing health outcomes and quality of life.
Requirements
- 3 years of previous Medical Assistant (MA) clinical experience required; 5 years preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following approved agencies:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
- American Medical Technologists (RMA)
- National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
- American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
- National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network required at hire.
- Electronic health record (EHR) experience required.
- Experience with process improvement or Lean philosophy preferred.

Schedule
This position works Mondays - Fridays, around the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Shift start and end times are somewhat flexible.

Saint Alphonsus Shared Service building: 8757 W. Emerald St., Boise, ID 83704 (located behind Target and the Ada County DMV off Emerald St.).
