SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Penn State Health Medical Group – Harrisburg office is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. The office oversees specialties including Family Practice, Obstetrics, Trauma-Psych Therapy, Infectious Disease, and Addiction Therapy. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients, taking vitals, handling medicine reconciliation, performing phlebotomy, administering injections, conducting EKGs, and assisting with in-house procedures. Clerical duties such as making phone calls and monitoring e-message pools for patient inquiries are also part of the role.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies is required within 90 days of employment.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)
- A graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is preferred.
- Previous outpatient experience is preferred.
