MA Boise Heart Care Full-Time

About the Role

This Medical Assistant position supports a full-time heart care provider at the Heart Care Institute in Boise. The role involves coordinating with the clinical care team to assist in all aspects of patient care during treatment.

Responsibilities

• Complete chart preparation and assist patients with movement within the clinics
• Room patients, take vitals, and review medications
• Set up for minor procedures
• Manage computer-based tasks, including work queue items, scheduling new and follow-up appointments, and completing related paperwork
• Schedule patients for procedures and related appointments

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required at hire)
• MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following approved agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
  • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (required at hire from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network)

For New Graduates:

• MA certificate of completion from an accredited program or school
• Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months of MA experience (in lieu of externship hours, even with MA certification)

For Experienced Medical Assistants:

• 1 year of MA experience OR current MA certification (or obtain/renew within 90 days of hire)

Note: EMT and CNA certifications do not qualify for this MA position.

Skills

• Strong multitasking and communication skills
• Self-initiative and detail-oriented
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Strong computer/technology skills; experience with Epic is a plus
• Knowledge of medical orders
• Team-oriented with a passion for patient connection and relationship-building

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, 4 × 10-hour days (Monday–Friday)
• Clinic hours: approximately 7:30 AM–6:00 PM (start/end times vary based on provider schedule)
• No weekends or major holidays
