M365 Consultant
Who You’ll Work With
As a Modern Work consultant at Slalom, you’ll work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and support modern collaboration and content solutions using Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Copilot. You’ll partner closely with client stakeholders, architects, engineers, designers, and security teams to translate business needs into secure, scalable, and user-friendly SharePoint and Copilot-enabled experiences. You’ll be part of Slalom’s Modern Work practice—an inclusive, collaborative group focused on delivering high-impact Microsoft 365 solutions across collaboration, content, security, and AI-powered ways of working, including Copilot agents and Power Platform solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint Online solutions, including modern sites, libraries, lists, pages, and navigation that support clients’ collaboration and content management needs.
- Build custom SharePoint components and solutions using SPFx, Power Automate, and Microsoft Graph / REST APIs.
- Administer and support SharePoint Online environments, including site collections, permissions, security groups, content types, term store, and search configuration.
- Design, build, and configure Copilot agents (using Copilot Studio or similar tools) that leverage SharePoint and other data sources to enable AI-powered knowledge retrieval, self-service, and productivity scenarios.
- Implement governance, security, and compliance best practices across SharePoint and Copilot solutions, partnering with client IT and security teams to align with organizational policies.
- Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Viva, Power BI) and line-of-business systems to create cohesive digital workplace experiences.
- Support implementation efforts across the delivery lifecycle, including solution design, configuration, customization, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Monitor and optimize SharePoint and Copilot solutions using analytics and feedback; iterate information architecture, prompts, and flows to improve usability and outcomes.
- Contribute to client enablement and adoption through documentation, technical runbooks, training support, and change enablement activities.
- Stay current on Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, and Copilot roadmap and capabilities, share learnings and reusable assets within Slalom’s communities of practice.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing, and administering SharePoint Online solutions, including modern sites, permissions, information architecture, and search.
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint development and customization using SPFx, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and Microsoft Graph / REST APIs.
- Practical experience with Power Platform (Power Automate; Dataverse a plus) to extend and automate SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Demonstrated experience building or configuring Copilot agents or similar AI/chatbot solutions (e.g., Copilot Studio, Power Virtual Agents), including connecting to SharePoint and other enterprise data sources.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance concepts (Entra ID/Azure AD, groups, conditional access, DLP, sensitivity/retention labels) and how they apply to SharePoint and Copilot.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and integrations, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to work directly with clients—gathering requirements, explaining options, and translating business needs into practical, human-centered technical solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with comfort working across technical and non-technical stakeholders in a consulting or client-facing environment.
- A growth mindset, including curiosity about emerging Microsoft 365 and AI capabilities, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
