M2S2 SETA - Sr Engineer, Cyber Information Security/Assurance

About the role

Maintain and enhance cybersecurity measures for critical infrastructure systems. Provide technical guidance and support in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify weaknesses in systems and networks.
• Develop and implement security controls to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
• Experience with network security, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of common security protocols and frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and CIS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• CISSP certification preferred.
• Experience with incident response and threat hunting.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.

Skills

• Proficient in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with cloud security services and platforms.
• Understanding of ethical hacking principles and methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
