About the role

The Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives, offering comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services in areas such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, and sustainability. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges in complex and highly regulated environments, avoid financial pitfalls, and implement practical solutions before, during, and after major transformational projects or transactions.

Responsibilities

• Serve client M&A deal teams by gathering, analyzing, validating, and normalizing transactional, commercial, and operational data (e.g., product-level sales, claims data, rebate and chargeback data, inventory, pipeline, and customer/channel data) to develop and test hypotheses for M&A deals.
• Work as part of cross-functional teams providing financial, accounting, operational, and commercial due diligence in regulated life sciences and healthcare environments.
• Analyze data to assess revenue quality, pricing realization, reimbursement exposure, and operational performance using business intelligence tools and visual analytics.
• Design and develop visualizations and dashboards that deliver crucial financial and operational insights for buy-side and sell-side transactions.
• Analyze financial and key performance indicator deal data for trends and outliers.
• Coordinate with client business and IT personnel to identify, collect, and validate transactional and operational data in highly regulated environments.
• Assess revenue quality, payer mix, reimbursement exposure, and contract dynamics within healthcare services and medical products businesses.
• Directly advise C-suite and private equity executives on critical aspects of M&A transactions across various industries.
• Lead and mentor a team of consultants, fostering professional development, collaboration, and clear expectations for client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or similar field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing large datasets.
• Experience analyzing or managing accounting, financial, or transactional data.
• Strong understanding of multiple business cycles (e.g., Order-to-cash revenue cycle, procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory, etc.).
• Demonstrated knowledge of business analytics and relational database concepts.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to extract and visualize insights from large data sets.
• Experience in ETL tools for data extraction and manipulation (e.g., Alteryx).
• Experience designing and storytelling via data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel Charts).
• Ability to travel up to 20%, on average, based on client and industry needs.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at a large or mid-size consulting firm focused on finance or accounting services.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience managing teams in a consulting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of data structures and database design.
• Knowledge of programming languages for data analyses: SQL, Python, R, or other languages.
• Experience presenting recommendations to senior executive stakeholders.
• Master of Business Administration or similar degree.
• CPA, CA certification.

Pay

The wage range for this role is $141,200 to $278,300. This range takes into account factors such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules, where awards depend on individual and organizational performance.
