About the Role

Performs procedures requiring specialized training for general nursing care and related services for assigned patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), in accordance with established policy. Participates in planning and providing patient care while using knowledge of asepsis in treatments such as sterile dressings, irrigations, and cauterizations. Provides functional direction to ancillary personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for assigned patients under the supervision of an RN according to established standards and nursing processes.
• Performs admission assessments and ongoing re-assessments based on departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists in developing a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
• Implements and coordinates the plan of care using appropriate organizational skills and reporting mechanisms.
• Develops and implements individual teaching plans, including Patient Teaching Protocols and discharge plans, emphasizing patient decision-making.
• Performs assigned clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, and drug screens.
• Administers medications.
• Orders and restocks supplies as assigned, according to established par levels.
• Maintains neatness and cleanliness in assigned areas, including Pre-op, PACU, soiled corridors, utility rooms, lounges, locker rooms, and restrooms.
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning throughout the department according to the established schedule and assigned area.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from an approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Arrhythmia certification: Preferred

Organizational Requirements

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $30.01 to $41.16 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. A comprehensive benefits program is also available for qualifying positions.
