LVN Travel Nurse

About the role

Join a mission-driven organization as an LVN Travel Nurse, supporting the delivery of patient care within assigned correctional healthcare settings as part of a traveling team. This role assists with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care under the supervision of Registered Nurses, adapting to different clinical environments while ensuring safe, compliant, and consistent care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of individualized treatment programs under RN supervision.
• Administer medications, obtain diagnostic tests, and carry out medical plans according to practitioner orders and protocols.
• Provide clinical care and respond to health emergencies using established procedures, safety techniques, and standard precautions.
• Document nursing encounters and communicate patient information to healthcare providers and staff.
• Support daily clinical operations, including controlled substance counts and assisting with procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• One (1) or more years of clinic experience required.
• Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) within the states of practice (California).
• Current CPR certification.
• At least three years of nursing experience; correctional experience is preferred but not required.

Schedule

• Primarily 12-hour day or night shifts, with some 8-hour options and weekend rotations depending on the site.

Pay

Pay is based on experience. LVNs range from $40–45 per hour.
