LVN-Part Time (Assisted Living)
About the role
Casa de las Campanas is seeking a talented Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our assisted living team. This position offers an employee appreciation bonus funded by our residents, a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, and an exceptional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Advocates patience, cheerfulness, and a positive work environment.
- Provides initial emergency medical response to residents needing assistance.
- Initiates and coordinates requests for emergency medical care, including contacting physicians, ordering emergency (911) or non-emergency ambulance transfers, and initial assessments of resident medical needs.
- Administers medications to residents as ordered.
- Administers treatments, including dressing changes, as ordered.
- Provides direct nursing care to residents within the guidelines of RCFE regulations and facility policy.
- Documents nursing care in support of planned outcomes.
- Consults with the Director of AL/SCR regarding desired patient outcomes and progress or lack of progress toward the outcomes.
- Identifies changes in resident status that interfere with the ability to meet basic needs.
- Identifies problems and reports to the Director of AL/SCR for modification of the plan of care.
- Observes and assesses effects of medications, reports findings to Director of AL/SCR and documents appropriately.
- Attends AL Department meetings as scheduled.
- Completes all online training scheduled by the Director of Staff Development and Director of AL/SCR.
- Assists in the effective operation of Casa de las Campanas and participates in relevant facility activities.
- Responsible for completing and emailing shift report.
- Orders and maintains medications.
- Keeps accurate maintenance of medical records.
- Assists with prepping paperwork for any discharge of residents from Health Center back to AL/SCR.
Requirements
Current licensure by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Examiners.
One year of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in assisted living, long-term care, or a similar setting.
Strong communication, clinical, and leadership skills.
Caregiver of compassion and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS certification.
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
$36.00 - $39.00 per hour.
Schedule
Saturday & Sunday 7am-3:30pm & 3-11:30pm.
Additional pay differentials of $1.25 per hour for the PM shift and $1.50 per hour for the NOC shift.
