LVN: Neuroscience Specialty Clinic

Responsibilities

  • Provide care within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
  • Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Follow patient identification procedures, provide information for patient procedures, and collect and handle specimens.
  • Assess and implement prescribed interventions for patients.
  • Implement and document discharge plans for each patient.
  • Recognize ethical, legal, and medical dilemmas in nursing practice and confer with appropriate resource personnel for decision-making.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe patient care environment.
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment.
  • Ensure complete and accurate charting of patient records and record-keeping of equipment and quality measures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to ensure timely, safe, and quality care delivery across the continuum.
  • Provide a safe, HIPAA-compliant environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of experience in a healthcare facility (Specialty Clinics may hire new grad LVNs with no experience).
  • Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current LVN License to practice in the State of California.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
