Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Aids in coordinating Patient Procedure/Surgical schedules.
  • Schedules routine procedures in the treatment area and add-ons/emergent procedures, ensuring smooth communication among patients, physicians, other departments, and staff.
  • Coordinates pre-procedure diagnostic tests and clearances with patients.
  • Provides insurance verification information to Insurance Verification Specialists as needed.
  • Fills out patient registrations, performs data entry, prepares patient charts, and handles other clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Interacts directly with patients in a high-call volume environment.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of departmental SOPs, including specialized instrumentation, Quality Control, and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year front office or previous scheduling experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safety measures.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Healthcare database systems, and basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Proven ability to interface with all customer levels (Physicians, Staff, Vendors, Patients, Family members).
  • Full understanding of medical insurance procedures required.
  • Basic keyboarding at a minimum of 35 WPM preferred.
  • BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
