Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Aids in coordinating Patient Procedure/Surgical schedules.
- Schedules routine procedures in the treatment area and add-ons/emergent procedures, ensuring smooth communication among patients, physicians, other departments, and staff.
- Coordinates pre-procedure diagnostic tests and clearances with patients.
- Provides insurance verification information to Insurance Verification Specialists as needed.
- Fills out patient registrations, performs data entry, prepares patient charts, and handles other clerical tasks as assigned.
- Interacts directly with patients in a high-call volume environment.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement processes.
- Maintains knowledge of departmental SOPs, including specialized instrumentation, Quality Control, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- One (1) year front office or previous scheduling experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safety measures.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Healthcare database systems, and basic medical terminology preferred.
- Proven ability to interface with all customer levels (Physicians, Staff, Vendors, Patients, Family members).
- Full understanding of medical insurance procedures required.
- Basic keyboarding at a minimum of 35 WPM preferred.
- BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
