Sign-on bonus: $5,000. Location: 120 Hillcrest Medical Blvd, Waco, TX 76712 – Waco Main General Pediatric Clinic.
Schedule
Full time, weekdays (Monday–Friday) with occasional Saturdays. Hours: either 9:00 AM–6:00 PM or 10:00 AM–7:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments using clinical reasoning and best practices within the LVN Scope of Practice; findings inform RN-created care plans and goals.
- Participate in evaluating nursing-practice effectiveness and quality by reviewing specific nursing indicators.
- Create a caring, safe, healing, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
- Manage pain, promote comfort, and minimize suffering.
- Facilitate education for patients, families, nurses, other healthcare team members, and the community.
- Collaborate with team members and community resources to implement care plans under RN or provider direction.
- Employ problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources for patients, families, and staff.
- Monitor and report any changes in patients’ conditions to the Registered Nurse supervisor.
- Follow Texas Nursing Practice Act regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Field of study: Nursing.
- Less than one year of experience in a similar role.
- Current Vocational Nursing Practitioner’s License.
- Basic Life Support certification (can be obtained within the first 30 days of employment).
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of nursing and patient-care standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with rules and regulations from certifying bodies affecting nursing care delivery.
- Understanding of medical terminology, health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention and management, and medications with their potential effects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse range of people.
- Critical thinking and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to identify and communicate changes in a patient’s condition to other healthcare providers.
- Capacity to provide care to patients of all ages while respecting individual experiences.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, information security protocols, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical records, and email.
