About the role

The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Mass General Brigham is seeking faculty candidates with interest in Lung Transplantation and general thoracic surgery to join the faculty as an Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor.

Responsibilities

  • Will have an MD or equivalent, be Board eligible or Board certified in Thoracic Surgery, have had training and experience in lung transplantation, and be eligible for a Massachusetts Medical License.
  • Will spend at least 50% of their time on lung transplantation and ECMO care, with the remaining time dedicated to general thoracic surgery.
  • Will perform surgeries including harvest, implantation, EVLP, patient evaluation, and perioperative care.
  • Will be committed to excellence in quality and patient safety and interested in robotic thoracic surgery.
  • Will support the lung transplant program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
  • Will have an academic/research interest and eventually seek funding and establish a clinical transplantation or research portfolio in another area of thoracic surgery.
  • Will have an active role in the education and teaching of medical students and residents on the Transplant Service and within MGB Thoracic Surgery.

Requirements

It is expected that the successful candidate will have:

  • An MD or equivalent degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification in Thoracic Surgery.
  • Experience in lung transplantation and general thoracic surgery.
  • Eligibility for a Massachusetts Medical License.
