About the role

The Lunchroom Manager position supports student learning by ensuring a nutritious and appealing meal environment that promotes healthy eating habits. As a key member of the district's team, the Lunchroom Manager will oversee daily operations and manage staff to foster a positive dining experience for students.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the food service operation at the building level.
    • food prep, set-up, sanitation of all equipment/tables, process payments, student account management, parent communication, ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
    • Ensure proper storage of all food in accordance with USDA requirements daily.
    • Ensure each student tray contains proper required food components.
    • Absolutely ensure all meals are accurately recorded.
    • Assists with the scheduling of employee work hours to ensure proper coverage for lunch.
    • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the building program. Verify only needed meals are ordered and served. Complete all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Report all work-related problems/issues to the Food Services Manager.
    • Maintain all communications with the Food Service Manager and District food service personnel.
    • Accurately verify all student accounts as required.
    • Interact positively and cooperatively with school staff, students, and parents.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Food Service Manager.

  • Ability to use the telephone, fax, and building communications systems.
  • Ability to create a file system and file accurately.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to analyze account activities.
  • Ability to be cross-trained and perform duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Candidate Qualifications

  • High school degree or its equivalent.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the performance of light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking, climbing stairs and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere.
