Lumberman - Will Call

Load and unload building materials and other incoming materials for delivery or storage. This position is also known as a Load Builder.

Responsibilities

• Move loads, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment
• Attach identifying tags to loads, stock, or other materials
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or operational needs
• Stack loads in locations such as material sheds, storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment
• Carry out general yard duties
• Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices
• Follow all organizational policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Review deliveries for quality and accuracy; review accompanying documents for accuracy
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Adhere to company policies and work requirements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months of related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, understand, and relay written and verbal instructions
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools
• Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and required drug screens as requested
• Must be able to successfully pass a Physical Capacity Assessment as requested

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, while working either indoors or outdoors
• Adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical, and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception, and other physical attributes
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
• Ability to push and pull up to 75 pounds regularly
• Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment
