Responsibilities
- Safely, accurately and efficiently load customer vehicles with orders of building materials
- Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy
- Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations
- Inspects stock and returned items to ensure salable quality
- Puts stock away in the correct location and nicely
- Provides required paperwork for change orders
- Completes inventory adjustments
- Participates in inventory preparation and post procedures
- Reads and follows instructions on picking tickets
- Opens and closes warehouse and yard when necessary
- Completes Blue-Volt training as necessary
- Sets to learn products and applications and attends product knowledge meetings
- Knows product locations in the yard and warehouse
- Able to read a measuring tape
- Able to understand product terminology and grading
- Maintains yard cleanliness during course of work
- Adheres to company procedures, policies and protocols as set forth in the Employees Handbook
- Wears high visibility, safety gear, and proper uniform
- Always looks behind/honks horn when backing/rounding blind corners
- Safely operates equipment
- Promptly reports all accidents/incidents and damaged products
- Completes daily safety audits of forklift and promptly reports any malfunctioning equipment
- Keeps aisles and exits clear
- Attaches red safety flag to over-length product
- Participates on safety committee if needed
- Understands weight, height, and length limits to inform customer of being able to safely handle or transport material
- Consistently follows safety protocols
- Quickly greets and assists all customers
- Reviews and completes hold harmless form with customers
- Shares product knowledge with customers
- Pulls orders and stages for will calls
Qualifications
- OSHA Certified Forklift License preferred
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices and protocols
- Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials
- Able to read and interpret "picking tickets" and invoices
- Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment
- General knowledge and use of power tools
Skills
- OSHA Certified Forklift License

Pay: $19.44-23.59 hourly
Schedule
This position works outside in a retail lumberyard location in all weather conditions
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
