Lubes Driver - Class A

Significant Activities & Deliverables

  • Adhere to delivery schedules set forth by dispatch
  • Perform daily Pre and Post Trip of the tanker, and report mechanical issues to Operations
  • Complete physical dip of tanks at the beginning and end of each delivery to verify accurate inventory and safety levels
  • Maintain accurate delivery and purchase detail, and record on daily log sheet from stop to stop
  • Communicate with management and dispatch on client issues or safety concerns
  • Maintain relationship with office personnel and respond to questions in a timely manner
  • Return daily log Sheet and delivery receipts upon the completion of each shift
  • Report all spills to Operations Manager and Operations Supervisor
  • Assist Warehouse team with pulling products for next day deliveries
  • Other duties to be assigned as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL, with a current medical card (Preferred certification in both manual and auto transmission)
  • A minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience is preferred by not required (Hazmat is a plus)
  • Must have the ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations with mental ability to handle receipts; read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
  • Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance
  • Must be available for around the clock trips to accommodate freight movements and must be available for irregular shifts
  • Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the US Dept. of Transportation
  • Must satisfactorily pass a drug test
  • Must satisfactorily pass an alcohol test (if applicable)

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing
  • Lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
  • Vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
